Vice Chair

Earl Ford

Earl W. Ford is the President of the Vancouver Branch NAACP, as well as a member of the WSU Vancouver Diversity Advisory Board. He is the Natural Resources Staff Officer for Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Pacific Northwest Region, USDA Forest Service, in Vancouver, Washington.

 

Ford began his career in 1972 as a Soil Scientist, cooperative-education student with the Soil Conservation Service (SCS) in McCook, Nebraska. After completing his coop-ed tour with SCS and graduating from Southern University, he went to work for the Forest Service as a Soil Scientist. As such, he has held many positions, including assignments in Puerto Rico, Alaska, California, and Texas.

 

Mr. Ford serves in a number of community service organizations including a past position as president of the Longview Society of American Foresters. He also serves on the executive board of the Alaska, Oregon, and Washington NAACP State Conference, and is in his third two-year term as president of the Vancouver Branch NAACP. He is active in his church and serves on the Diversity Advisory Board for the Washington State University, Vancouver, and was most recently re-appointed by the Governor to serve as Commissioner for African American Affairs for Southwest Washington.

 

Mr. Ford holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agronomy from Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and a Master of Public Administration Degree from the University of San Francisco.
