Education and Wealth

Financial Education is the Key to Advancement

While more African Americans are climbing the economic ladder, the wealth gap between Whites and Blacks is at its widest. According to the Institute on Assets and Social Policy, from 1984 to 2007, the gap increased from a modest $20,000 in 1984 to $100,000 in 2007.

Many people think that they need to be rich in order to invest, but it is important to realize that without investments as part of your financial plan, you will never be able to attain financial freedom. Even the smallest investment can make a difference and financial education is the key to advancement. We are never too young or too old to learn new ways to make our hard-earned money grow.

Books and magazines such as Black Enterprise have current information as to how you can start working towards your financial goals.
